2nd Grade Curriculum

Language & Literacy

• Reading: Building fluency, main ideas, sequencing, and inference.
• Writing: Paragraph construction, capitalization, punctuation, and series commas.

Math & Science

• Numeracy: Add/subtract within 100, place value to 1,000, and intro to arrays.
• Logic: Money, time to 5 minutes, and standard measurement.
• Inquiry: Habitats, ecosystems, sound, light, and simple engineering.

Social Studies & Development

• Civics: Community types, goods/services, and improved map use.
• Skills: Material responsibility, collaborative norms, and courteous speech.
• Physical: Jumping/throwing accuracy and handwriting fluency.

Faith & Discipleship

• Core: Jesus took my sins away to give me life.
• Catechism: Law shows need; Gospel gives forgiveness. Commandments and Lord’s Prayer in daily life.
• Worship: Confession/Absolution basics, Baptismal identity, and chapel reverence.
