Rainforest Explorers Vacation Bible School

Welcome to VBS 2021 at Grace Lutheran Sandy! We look forward to seeing you for a very special week of fun and learning as we explore our Rainforest Explorers VBS theme:
Jesus Leads the Way!
Monday, June 7 to Friday June 11, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM
Children will learn how Jesus leads the way through five themed lessons including:
-God rescues Noah, Genesis 6:17-22 and Genesis 8
-God gives the commandments, Exodus 19:18-20 and 20:1-21
-Jesus calls His disciples, Matthew 4:18-22 and 9:9-13
-Jesus heals ten lepers, Luke 17:11-19
-Jesus visits His Disciples, John 21:1-14
They will also learn how they can apply these lessons to their own lives while singing, playing games, participating in Bible challenges, making crafts, and making new friends!
VBS is available to children who have completed Kindergarten through 6th grade.
The cost is $25.00 per child for the week. A snack will be provided. Please pay by cash or personal check at the church office care of Church Administrative Assistant, Cindy Sinclair, or you may bring cash or check on the first day of VBS to the registration table.
We are also looking for VBS volunteers! If you are interested, please sign up. We’d love to have you as part of the Rainforest Explorers VBS team!
Parents: By participating in Rainforest Explorers VBS at Grace Lutheran, you are giving your permission for your child to appear in pictures related to VBS activities in accordance with Grace Lutheran Church and School Policy. This year’s Banquet for Life event hosted by the Pregnancy Resource Center of Salt Lake City will be held in the beautiful ballroom of the Grand America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City. We are anticipating a great evening filled with delectable food, wonderful fellowship, and a special message from our keynote speaker Abby Johnson. Even with the hotel’s social distancing protocols in place, the hotel can still comfortably seat 500 guests this year!

Board Game Night
Normally held on the third Thursday of every month at 6:00 PM, this fun even combines good food with good friends having good fun. Unfortunately, due to the COVID pandemic, this social gathering is on hold. We all hope that we will get to game together again soon.
Grace Lutheran School’s Parent Teacher League hosts its annual Spring fundraising event, Cowboy Up. Cowboy Up promises an amazing evening filled with dinner and entertainment. Open to the public. Please contact our Parent Teacher League for sponsorship opportunities.
This summer camp held on the Grace Lutheran School campus is a week long day camp from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade.
Each year a fantastic new STEM curriculum engages the campers with fantastic themes. Past themes included: Deep Sea Mystery, Innovation Force, Farm Tech, and Supercharged. Your kids don’t want to miss out on this fun and engaging experience!
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
VBS at Grace is a week long half-day camp from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM each day for children entering Kindergarten through 6th grade. This Christ focused camp is engaging and fun for everyone with themes like Miraculous Mission and Rainforest Explorers we’re sure your kiddos will head home with a song in their heads and Jesus in their hearts.
Too mature to attend as a camper? We would love to have you as a camp leader! Just let us know (earlier is better). You’ll have fun, and get to see this exciting program from the other side.
Grace Giving Garden
During the school year the Grace Giving Garden is a mission of the 4th Grade Class at to help provide people in need with fresh fruits and vegetables, and hopefully learn a little gardening life-skills along the way! Each summer We ask that volunteers sign up for a week (or more!) to take care of the garden.
Each year Grace students put on a luncheon and performance for all Veterans provided by the Bald Eagle Chapter of D.A.R. and a Veterans Program hosted by Grace Lutheran Church and School. This program is free and open to the public, please RSVP if you would like to attend.
In 2020 because of distancing requirements we honored our veterans with a video production that was shared with our school. We thank you American Heroes for all that you do.
Christmas in the Nighttime Sky
Typically held the first Friday of December, Christmas in the Nighttime Sky is a FREE winter fireworks show and toy drive. Bring the kids to enjoy a free dinner, entertainment, and best of all a spectacular Christmas Fireworks Show. We only ask that you please bring a new, quality unwrapped toy or gift card for children ages 5-16. The toys will be distributed to children in need. Sponsored by Lantis Fireworks and Lasers.
