Pastor’s picks Oct ’24

Pastor Lamont is nearly always listening to something or watching something to build up his faith, exercise his mind, and pass a little time. Here’s what he’s listened to in the past month.

“KFUO Radio” Celebrating 100 Years (kfuo.org)

https://www.kfuo.org/tag/100-years-of-kfuo/

Pastor’s note: KFUO is a great heritage of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, and is celebrating its 100th year in broadcasting with stories and interviews of the people who helped run it since 1924. It’s impressive to hear what the LCMS has put into the airwaves of the world in that time.

“Tangible – Theology Learned and Lived” (concordiatheology.org)

https://sites.libsyn.com/486336
Pastor’s note: A podcast produced by Concordia Seminary which features discussions of real-world topics and thoughtful reflections according to God’s Word. Recent discussions include things such as the prophet Hosea and his marriage, and artificial intelligence, technology, and the Church.

“Christian Combatives” (YouTube)

Pastor’s note: This LCMS pastor and chaplain, callsign “Paladin Actual”, gives short and fun reflections on tricky topics, including “a Lutheran rosary” and what kind of men are to be sustained in the pastoral office. He puts a lot of thought into the topics he addresses, and helps us to think critically.
