Pastor Lamont is nearly always listening to something or watching something to build up his faith, exercise his mind, and pass a little time. Here’s what he’s listened to in the past month.
KFUO Radio — 100 Year Celebration (kfuo.org)

This has come up in previous months, but I have been paying attention to the KFUO Radio 100 year anniversary, and I’m learning a lot! There are two specific things I want to highlight. First, KFUO produced a 23-minute documentary on its founding and impact, and it’s very illuminating! Second, some extremely interesting “Historic Broadcasts” have been airing, and I found one to be particularly interesting, a 1924 speech from LCMS President John W. Behnken, commemorating 100 years since the Saxon landing in St. Louis, and it is fascinating to hear him use the same kinds of language about Christianity and the Lutheran Confessions that we do today! A profound connection!
1517 – 40 Minutes in the Old Testament (1517.org)

This month, one of my regular Bible study podcasts began looking at a big and complicated prophetic book of the Old Testament, the Book of Isaiah. I’m listening carefully to this one and spending additional time on Isaiah in my own time too.
Paul McCreesh – Michael Praetorius Mass for Christmas Morning (youtube.com)
I listen to a lot of Christian vocal and classical music, and this is a regular listen for me on Christmas Day. A web page I found describes what kind of effort went into this. This is a reconstruction of a Lutheran Divine Service “as it might have been staged in Wolfenbüttel in around 1620, using the 1595 Wolfenbüttel Order of Service, which owes much to Martin Luther’s Wittenberg liturgies. This is a communion service, with Kyrie, Gloria, Creed and Sanctus (though the texts are not necessarily literal translations of the Latin), with the usual consecration, interspersed with the congregational hymns, four in all, and motets during communion.”
